| Hey hey, it's Nik with 3 book summaries for you. Here's our headliner for the week: The Courage to Be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi & Fumitake Koga In our Augmented Reading training yesterday (you can now get access to the full recording + bonuses, btw), my friend Michael mentioned the idea of "quake books"—books so impactful, you can clearly separate your life into two parts: before and after you read them. The Courage to Be Disliked was a quake book for me. I bought it on a whim at the train station while waiting for my connection. Written as a simple conversation between a philosopher and a student, talking about life, it was easy to get through yet profound in the concepts it explained. I highlighted a lot, reflected a ton, and still finished the book in a short time. The book explains the philosophy, psychology, and theories of Alfred Adler, the "silent 3rd genius" of these fields in the 20th century. Adler's ideas got overshadowed by Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung—but perhaps they were the best, most relevant ones. I highly recommend this book! Here's what you'll learn in today's video:
