Hello there! Nik here with The 4 Minute Read in case you missed it on Saturday. Also, this is the absolute last call to get 23% off a lifetime membership (I just added 1,250 newly designed PDFs & 90+ audios last week) along with 7 custom book recommendations from me to achieve your goals. We slightly extended the deadline from yesterday, but today at midnight, it's goodbye, old sport!
In other news, I'm trying something new: Can I explain a big idea in roughly 4 minutes? We'll start with The Hero's Journey, an incredibly useful concept for creativity but also in everyday life.
This book barely needs an introduction. Mainly because it's taught in schools everywhere. But also: Leonardo DiCaprio. Thanks bud! This is an emotional summary for me. It's actually the first book I ever summarized — in 12th grade English class. I still have the materials. I had no idea back then, but this one planted the first seed for Four Minute Books. The love story is dramatic, the setting is fascinating, and there are plenty of lessons to be learned from the novel's characters. Also: It's sort of a fictionalized autobiography of F. Scott Fitzgerald's crazy life. Sadly, he never witnessed the book's crazy success. That only came after he died. An all-time classic everyone should at least know the plot line of. Take a look!
The Courage to Be Happy is a follow-up to this multi-million bestseller, written in the same style — a simple discussion between a young man and a philosopher — and this time, it's about more than unapologetically being your most authentic self — it's about using that power, along with some others, to become truly happy.
The year is half over. How are your New Year's Resolutions coming along? If you haven't made as much progress as you would have liked, don't worry: It's not too late to make the most of this year.
Just this week, I added 1,250 PDFs — a complete design overhaul of our existing library — to the membership. I also uploaded 90 new audios (that's ~15 new titles per month for this year!). What else is included?

The Idea
This week, I thought I'd try something new: Can I explain an important concept that'll be useful for the rest of your life in about 4 minutes? I chose the Hero's Journey.
The Hero's Journey, formulated by writer Joseph Campbell, is a circular sequence of events any protagonist follows in order to achieve their goal.
It's the single-most important story structure underpinning basically all famous novels (including The Great Gatsby), Hollywood movies, and more. More than a tool for great creativity, however, it can also provide courage, inspiration, and insight for our personal lives.

Whether you want to craft more compelling essays, brush up on your writing education, or simply get some inspiration for your day, I hope you'll take a look.
Okay, I know it's the same as above, but this literally popped up after a random scroll online, and I figured it must be fate. Coincidence? I think not!!
That's all for this week. I hope you'll enjoy these reads and lessons and will learn a lot!
