"Of course motivation is not permanent," Zig Ziglar once said. "But then, neither is bathing; it is something you should do on a regular basis."
Inspiration is simple: If you get a little bit of it every day, you'll never run out. That's what today's freebie is for.
For the last 3 months, I've been exploring quote lists as a new type of content on Four Minute Books. So far, I've created 8 pieces, and they've been really well-received, bringing over 150,000 new readers to the site — if you're one of them, hello there! Nice to have you on board.
My goal is to create 10 lists in total, then collect data for a while before creating more, and if you've been on this newsletter for a bit, you'll know I always try to end on a high note. In this case, it's 414 high notes on the penultimate quote list for now: 414 Short Inspirational Quotes to Give You Courage, Hope, and Power.
"Never say never, because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion." — Michael Jordan
Yes. You read that right. Nik spent 4 weeks digging, researching, verifying, filtering, and curating, ultimately writing almost 10,000 words, to curate a whopping 414 quotes for you.
The end result is a wealth of inspiring ideas across 17 categories:
There's no way to have a great day every day, but making sure you get your daily dose of inspiration is the best habit I know to even come close to it.
That's why I wrote 2-Minute Pep Talks. I really believe in "a little each day goes a long way," be it for motivation, building a business, or being a great dad.
It is also why I worked hard on this piece, and I hope it'll help you win the day, week, month, and year.
"It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." ― J.K. Rowling
The best way to use this resource, by the way, is not to browse quotes for hours (although insposcrolling is definitely better than doomscrolling). It is to bookmark it, open it briefly every morning, and then use the table of contents to find the right words at the right time.
May your inspiration never run out, and if it does, you know where to find some. 😉
PS: I'll share a little more on why and how this piece came about in the next Behind the Books email soon, but you can already find some of the reasoning in my 7 Years of Running a Book Summary Business recap, particularly lesson #5 (Double down on what works). Until then, can you guess what the most popular inspirational quote of all time is? Find out here »
