| Hello there! It's Nik with the usual: 3 awesome book summaries! Sorry for the delay. I was working on something I was hoping I could announce already, but I'll need some more time. I do, however, have a brand new summary for you! My good friend Kaki wrote this book, and I'm so happy I was finally able to summarize it. It's... Wa—The Art of Balance by Kaki Okumura (4-Min Read) Kaki is a fellow writer I met on Medium. I still remember the first piece I read: How Japanese People Stay Fit for Life, Without Ever Visiting a Gym. The answer? Walking! In naturally walking 7,000-8,000 steps a day on average, many Japanese folks get all the exercise they need. How would Kaki know? She hails from both Japan and the US, having spent large parts of her life in both countries. In her book Wa—The Art of Balance, which she beautifully ilustrated herself, by the way, Kaki explains what the West can learn from the East when it comes to living healthfully in 4 areas: nourishing, moving, resting, and socializing. This book does 2 things extremely well:
I'm a bit biased, of course, since Kaki is my friend. But I can clearly tell she put her heart and soul into this book. The hardcover version is amazing, and I can almost guarantee you'll make at least one small change for healthier habits—for me it was the Makko Ho stretching routine, by the way. More mobility in 3 minutes a day? Sign me up! Here's what you'll learn in today's written summary:
If you want to live longer and healthier, do not miss this book summary. And if you want to take it a step further and make both Kaki's and my day, I'd love for you to buy your own copy of the book. I can't recommend it enough, and you can see my full review here. Not your cup of read? Here are 2 other titles you might enjoy:
That's all for today. May the 4th be with you on this beautiful Star Wars Day, and thank you for being a subscriber. Happy reading, PS: If you're feeling generous towards your future self and hardworking authors today, do get a copy of Kaki's book Wa—The Art of Balance. You won't regret it. Thank you! |
