| Hello there! Nik here delivering this week's batch of book summaries. Our featured title is an amazing, classic novel I read for the first time earlier this year: Siddhartha by Hermann HesseThis book is over 100 years old. It was first published in 1922 by German writer Hermann Hesse. Hesse studied Eastern philosophy, spirituality, and mythology, and in this masterpiece, he basically retold the story of the Buddha in his own imagination. Siddhartha starts out as a young man of noble descent, disciplined and pious. Eventually, he realizes he must leave his home to find true spiritual enlightenment, which he seeks in askesis but doesn't find. One day, he ends up in a city and meets a beautiful woman. He discovers desire, pleasure, and money. He becomes a businessman and ends up trapped in all of the world's many distractions. Then, much later, he finds himself right where he began only to realize he had the answers all along... Here's what you'll learn from today's video:
