​Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance​

For the latest on the richest man on the planet, Walter Isaacson's biography of Elon Musk is great. But if you want a deeper dive into the origin stories of all his companies, from Zip2 to PayPal to SpaceX, Tesla, and SolarCity, Vance's biography from 2015 is your best bet.

I read the book a few years back, and I also remember Vance giving a bit more personal commentary (read: criticism) of Elon's actions in various situations. Both are inspiring reads that'll show you how Elon thinks and how early he made up his mind about the importance of space travel and energy. You'll learn a lot, think a lot, and get to know someone you only know from reading headlines.
