| Heyo and happy hump day! Nik here with a special treat. I don't know if you remember, but last year, I completed a personal passion project over several months. My goal was to put together The 365 Most Famous Quotes of All Time. I did this because...
Most of the quote lists you can find nowadays do zero research. They don't even properly verify their quotes' sources, let alone do any analysis on how "famous" they actually are. Well, in this personal study turned minor PhD thesis, I did both. The result is a list of 365 of humanity's most brilliant ideas in 27 categories, fully verified, and backed by real data. Last week, I updated, reformatted, and better explained the background of this list and republished it on Medium, where it has been nominated and selected by their curators. If you happen to be a Medium Member, you can browse the list here, read it, save it, clap for it, jump to various sections etc., and your reading time will help me make some money from the story. If you're not a Medium Member, you can browse the list for free via this link. The reads via this link won't contribute to my earnings, but if you like it, you can still clap (up to 50 times), comment, share it, and so on. Some examples? The list includes classic gems, like... "Carpe diem — Seize the day." — Horace ...but also more surprising entries, like... "It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the action that we do." — Mother Teresa ...and even sheds light on some classics whose origins are rather different from what you thought: "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." — Clare Boothe Luce Most of all, however, it is filled with enough inspiration to last you an entire year if you read one quote a day. From iconic movie lines to fictional characters' catch phrases to life-changing speeches, this list has everything. Here are all 27 categories, simply click to browse (Member links, the post itself also has a clickable table of contents if you use the free link):
I've also included...
This is definitely one of the biggest projects I've ever done. It only recently occurred to me that this should probably be a book. What do you think? Should I turn it into one? I've been considering whether to do it and let every quote stand for itself, or whether I should add some commentary to each one. Would love to hear your thoughts on this! Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this list, maybe leave some claps if you do, and perhaps even save it or share it with a friend. Thank you for reading my writing and supporting what I do. Here are your two ways again to discover The 365 Most Famous Quotes of All Time: Until next time! Happy reading, PS: Here are some of my favorites from the image section:
