Hello there! It's Nik with The 4 Minute Read. This week, I summarized one of my favorite business books of all time. Also, if you want to help me better help you, please take this quick 2-question survey. You'll be done as fast as Sonic is up there. Thanks! Let's get into it!
In the world of business, everybody knows the name Geoffrey Moore. The reason is his seminal book, Crossing the Chasm. In it, Moore explains how new technologies can bridge the gap between early adopters and the mainstream population and thus achieve large-scale adoption. But if you ask me, as is often the case, his most popular idea is not his best one. I think Escape Velocity deserves that crown. This is one of the best business books I've ever read, and it will allow you to analyze any business with a simple framework: The hierarchy of 5 powers. Whether you want to start a business, have influence in one, or simply to understand the place where you work better, this book will change how you think about business forever. If you want to make an impact on the world through your work, read this summary.
Compared to our ancient ancestors, we live in paradise — at least when it comes to stimulating our senses.
Whether it's alcohol, coffee, audiovisual stimulation through TV, adult entertainment, online gambling, or simply chasing and giving likes on social media, endless wells of dopamine have sprung up all around us.
In fact, we carry millions of them right in our pocket wherever we go (hello, smartphone!). But if our ancestors knew what a double-edged sword this kind of paradise can be, they might never wish for it in the first place.
The fact of the matter is, many, perhaps most of us, are dopamine addicts — and we don't even realize it. But with Dopamine Nation, Anna Lembke finally opens our eyes — and provides a cure. Resetting your dopamine sensors is a bit like eating home-cooked food after a string of eating only McDonald's: The world turns from greyscale back into fully colored.
So, chances are, I'll make some changes to the business model in 2024 — and by clicking 2 buttons, you can help me make the right ones. Will you answer 2 questions so I can make the site and products better for you?
Thank you! It'll only take a few seconds but will make a real impact on what I'll work on for you this year.

Less Doing, More Living by Ari Meisel
Ari Meisel has done it all. Biohacking, real estate, building websites, productivity coaching, running triathlons. But then, he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Completely sapped of his energy, Ari had to find a better way of doing, well, everything. In Less Doing, More Living, he describes everything he has learned about productivity since then. Today, he is a father first and spends little time on his business, yet he still connects with great clients and enjoys even more success than before. If you want to take control of your life and make time for what really matters to you, read this summary.
