Hot Off The Press The God Delusion ​by Richard Dawkins In his book The Selfish Gene, Dawkins explained our replicating genes as the driving force of evolution. The theory made him into a hall-of-fame biologist. He is also, however, a strong proponent of atheism. In The God Delusion, he outlines why. Basically, Dawkins makes several, rationally argued points as to why God is unlikely to exist, how religion may have emerged from an evolutionary standpoint, and why science might be a better alternative. The book was obviously highly controversial when it came out, and it is a strong talking point still. Personally, I'm happy to accept anyone's beliefs, as I think they have little to do with whether we are good people or not. Those choices can happen with or without religion, and if we don't make them, religion is as bad an excuse as any other. If you're an agnostic, skeptic, or have doubts about your faith, this might be the right summary to read for you.
