Hot Off The Press
Never Finished by David Goggins
We all get lost from time to time, but David Goggins was in deep. He struggled with various addictions, keeping a job, and weighed over 300 lbs. Eventually, he found a switch in his mind, flicked it, and turned his life around. He completed the hardcore Navy SEAL training and is now an ultra-marathon runner. Never Finished is the follow-up to his million-copy bestselling memoir Can't Hurt Me, which will inspire you with 8 powerful mindset shifts to smash any and all glass ceilings in your life.
The Gita, as it is often called, is one of the most influential spiritual texts in hinduism. It is more than an epic story or religious guide, however. It is an instruction manual on how to live.
When warrior Arjuna is overcome by a crisis of ethics on the verge of battle, his charioteer and guide Krishna offers help and advice. The result is a dialogue full of timeless wisdom.

The Ask
I don't know if you've ever tried starting a Youtube channel, but if you have, I'm sure you know: It's hard. Youtube is a loooong game. They want you to put in the time and effort — but if you do, they also do their best to make the rewards worth it!
We started our Youtube channel after we got some extra cash from a licensing deal back in 2020. Over 2.5 years later, we've spent over $50,000 on producing more than 130 high-quality videos, which we've released every week like clockwork. That's a lot of money to make something that other people consume for free, isn't it?
For the first year, we saw almost no growth. On most days, we got less than 300 views. I had no idea if the first $20,000 of our investment would go anywhere. It's not always easy to stick to plans when the going gets tough. Many people would have quit, I think. But we stuck it out, and in year two, one of our videos took off and started lifting up the entire channel.
Now that we're in year three, the channel is still far from profitable, but we've grown to a respectable 22,000 subscribers (halfway to 44,000!), and I have faith that, in the long run, producing human-narrated videos with smart animations, fitting music, and well-curated lessons from great books will work out.
My ask for you today is simple: Please help us on this quest. Subscribing to our Youtube channel and watching the occasional video about a book that interests you is entirely free, but it helps us generate revenue, move the channel towards profitability, and thus produce more free book summaries and videos for you!
This book is full of clever, scientifically validated ideas that will make your life simpler and happier. Schwartz presents plenty of evidence that the modern world overwhelms us with choice to the point where picking our breakfast cereal can trigger an existential crisis. His new model of "the satisficer" — someone who perfects the art of "good enough" — will change how you make decisions forever.
Okay Gru, that plan is almost as good as stealing the moon. Almost! 😉
That's all for now. May the Force be with you this month, in reading and otherwise!
Happy reading, -Nik
